A hackathon, organized by Sequoia Capital, to be held in Bangalore on September 10th and 11th, 2016. There are exciting prizes for the winners, the opportunity to interact with other developers, and the chance to build something cool.
Sign up here by August 25th 2016, go through the qualification process, and then receive an invite. The filtering criteria for qualifications is a ranking algorithm that takes into account the following :
– Open Source contributions
– GitHub Profile
– LinkedIn Profile
– Skills and Expertise
If you work for a company that Sequoia Capital has invested in, or know a CTO at a Sequoia Capital-funded company, you may ask them for a referral in addition to registering here.

Go through the qualification process as an individual and on the day of the hackathon, we will run a small matchmaking program during check-in to help individuals find/form teams.
There will be a few themes/ tracks to the event. Please check the Tracks section for more details. However, these are only recommendations and you can focus on any problem and use any programming language you choose. It is important to be a strong coder, as there are no judgement criteria other than code quality.
The event will be judged by a panel of veterans from the industry; they will evaluate your code to see how well it solves the problem at hand. Elegance and creativity will also be measured.

You are welcome to apply, regardless of location. There will be a lot of folks staying the whole 24-hour period, and meals will be provided. If your current city of residence is Mumbai or Delhi or Chennai, please do apply and we’ll have an update on transportation soon.

Laptops for coding. If you are using any special kits of any kind (Lego Mindstorms etc.), please bring those as well. If you have specific requirements, please reach out in advance and we will see what we can do.
As far as possible, we would like you to start at the event itself, however, we recognise that it is not always possible to do so. Hence, you will be allowed to bring in prior art, if you have a spec and a declaration of what already exists and also of what will be built at the event. Judging will take into account how much of the product was built before versus during the event.
Sequoia Capital will not assume any rights, intellectual or otherwise, over work that is developed as part of this hackathon. All creation rights will vest with the team that creates it. Also, Sequoia Capital requires that all teams honour all existing licenses on prior art and not violate any confidences, contracts, licenses, patents by bringing prior art to the event. You are responsible for respecting any property rights of third parties.
If you own a Macbook, please make sure to bring along an Ethernet Adapter.
Most Macs are not going to have a network port and we only have 250 wired connections available at the venue. If you’re a Mac user, don’t forget the Ethernet Adapter.
You’ll receive an email letting you know about your selection + a link to RSVP.
Make sure you RSVP ASAP: We are restricting entries at the venue to participants who have RSVP’d and confirmed their attendance.
Unfortunately, there are no on-the-spot registrations or confirmations or RSVP’s. So make sure you confirm your attendance via the link in the email by midnight, September 3rd, 2016.
Once you’ve RSVP’d, we will send you a Gate-Pass that you can use to check-in at the venue. Only participants with Gate Passes will be allowed entry so make sure you RSVP!
